Exciting news!
Looks like this is officially a tradition: Montreal's annual women's comedy festival is back for year two. Festival creator and producer, Eman, fresh off of her own Just For Laughs performance, has put together a great bunch of performers for 5 shows. running from October 4-6.
DeAnne Smith, a multiple Canadian Comedy Award nominee, has appeared at the Just for Laughs, Melbourne and Edinburgh Festivals as well as on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and the Comedy Network.
Christina Walkinshaw, a Canadian Comedy Award nominee, has taped a half-hour “Comedy Now!” special for CTV and had her jokes featured in the coffee table book “She's So Funny” among the likes of Ellen Degeneres.
Steph Tolev, one half of acclaimed sketch duo Ladystache, fresh off a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe, has been featured on the “Late Night with Matty D” TV show.
Eman, the Festival’s founder and producer, has taped a half-hour “Comedy Now!” special for CTV, been featured on CBC’s “The Debaters”, and appeared at the Just for Laughs, Amman, and Halifax Comedy Festivals.
Show times are: Thursday 8 pm, Friday 8 pm and 10pm, and Saturday 8 pm and 10 pm.
Tickets are 15$. All shows will be at Club Privateer, 1222 Mackay St. in downtown Montreal. Call 514.802.4253 for reservations.
Go on and spend a beautiful fall weekend in Montreal. We've been told that while the funny ladies can't guarantee that the weather will be good, the comedy WILL be hilarious.
Keep up with the fest on Eman's site.
